Google’s Plans for a New, “Smart” Messaging App

Word has gotten out that Google plans to release a new messaging app in an attempt to outshine current rivals like Facebook’s WhatsApp and Messenger, or Tencent Holdings Ltd.’s WeChat. This new service aims to rise above the competition by offering a chatbot; smart software programs that answer users’ questions inside the app by searching the Web and other sources. In an article by Alistair Barr of The Wall Street Journal titled “Google Plans New, Smarter Messaging App,” we’re taken through the details of Google’s new product.
