We are getting calls from clients wanting us to design and develop a smartphone app on the iPhone, Droid and Blackberry platforms. It seems that all of you are getting bombarded with solicitations. The first question to ask yourself is whether your business has recurring traffic in search of the same information daily, weekly or monthly. If you do not, you don’t need an app. You should have a mobile phone-enabled website, however, but that is serving a different need. Don’t spend your money on an app unless you meet the above criteria. We design both, but they generally meet different needs.
